Kansas City is one of most dangerous city in the United States. There are around 1,654 violent crimes per 100,000 people. The high rate of violent crime in Kansas City can be partly attributed to its homicide rate, which is bigger than other cities of its size. The homicide rate of Kansas City is over 23 murders per 100,000 people, way higher than the nation average of 5 per 100,000.

Baltimore, Maryland

Baltimore ranks high with a violent crime rate of over 1,780 crimes for every 100,000 people. Both assault and robbery are big issues in Baltimore. Sorry to say, plenty of the crimes taking place in Baltimore has been due to drugs and poverty. The homicide rate in Baltimore is also quite high.

Memphis, TennesseeĀ 

Also on the list is Memphis, Tennessee, with over 1,9oo violent crimes for 100,000 people. For over 10 years, Memphis has been rated as one of the most dangerous cities in the nation. It has been said that a big contributing factor to the high crime is the high poverty rate and rising unemployment.

St. Louis, Missouri

St. Louis, Missouri has a high crime rate with over 1,900 violent crimes per 100,000 individuals. Since the 90s, crime in St. Louis has been gradually rising. Though, in recent times, crime does seem to be slightly decreasing. St. Louis is known for having the highest murder rate in the nation.

Detroit, Michigan

With a violent crime rate of over 2,045 per 100,000 people, Detroit is the most deadly city in the US. Some of the most usual crimes in the city are assault with a deadly weapon, rape, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and murder. It is crucial to note that crime in Detroit has been declining over recent years.
